Project Ten | August (Dress)

This time of year is c.r.a.z.y. for me. Weddings, a ton of portrait sessions and little family holidays here and there. It's always a bit of a hustle to pull my Project Ten photos together, but this month I almost didn't make it. With a theme like "dress", the possibilities are endless. But I didn't have the time to really think out something wildly creative. At the last minute, I did what I had in the back of my mind all along - I took my girl to a field, wearing a dress. Groundbreaking, I know. But I'm so glad I did, because these are probably some of my all time favourite photos of Neve... ever. I love that this project forces me to shoot for myself every month, no matter how crazy things can get around here. Lately my daughter's daily life has been documented more faithfully through Instagram then through actual photos, so that makes this little session extra special to me. London Ontario Engagement and Family Photography | The Purdy Family

I just loved meeting up with this lovely family for photos on a sunny Saturday morning. This is a family that likes to have fun and laugh together, and their love of life and of each other is evident in all of their interactions -Whether they're goofing around and cracking jokes or snuggling the littlest Purdy (who is so, so, so adorable!). We started off the session by taking a few engagement shots for Jennifer and Jeremy and finished off by capturing the whole family together. Here's a peek at their session! :)

London Ontario Family Photography | The Ivins Family

I had so much fun photographing Melissa's little family last Fall, and when she contacted me about an extended family session with her parents and siblings, I was thrilled. The session took place on her parents'  beautiful property, and despite the crazy mosquitos, we had a lovely evening together complete with gorgeous sunlight! Here are a few peeks!

Project Ten | July (Water)

This month's theme is water, and after taking a more posed, styled approach to last month's Hair theme (incidentally, my "hair" photos also took place in the water!), I really wanted to take a more candid, organic approach this month. We spent a week visiting some family in Northern Ontario, where I was born and raised, and enjoyed a beautiful mix of swimming, boating, fishing, woods walking, wildflower picking, campfire singing and late-night chatting. These photos were taken during a sunset lake swim with my sister and her beautiful family. It was so wonderful to watch Neve explore with her cousins. I love playing with my nieces and nephews (and rarely get to!) and had to pull myself away from the water to snap a few photos - but I'm so glad I did! Southern Ontario Family Photographer | The Langstaff Family

I travelled to Tupperville for this family session and, despite a GPS "incident" that had me scrambling for directions at one point, and then being told I had "arrived at me destination" in the middle of a field, I made it! :) I was so pleased to meet the beautiful Langstaff Family (in their flawlessly coordinated outfits!) and discover the ah-ma-zing location they had chosen for the session. Open field, old bard, hay bales, oh - and a vintage couch. Let's just say i was mildly excited!

This family is so fun and loving and was an absolute joy to photograph. Hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do! xo

London Ontario Family Photographer | A Baseball Themed Session

The lovely Kelly was the winner of my Family Lifestyle Show giveaway for a free session. When she mentioned that her adorable little family would be decked out in Blue Jays outfits and wanted a "baseball feel" to their photos, it felt only natural to choose a baseball field as our location. We met early in the morning and had a blast exploring the field that - as it turns out - Kelly grew up playing on. Kelly and Mike actually met playing baseball, so the sport definitely plays a huge role in their life! Admittedly, I felt a little out of my element (let's just say baseball isn't my thing - as in I am totally clueless!), but it's always nice to try something a little different, and I just love how these turned out. Kelly and Mike, I hope you do too! -xo

London Ontario Family Photographer | The Williams Family

I first met this sweet family after they received a gift certificate for a maternity session with me. We headed out to the woods on an October evening and had so much fun documenting their anticipation for their new addition, which turned out to be the very adorable Solomon. I was so happy to hear from them again last Winter when we started making plans for a Summer family session. I got to see Isaac in his role of proud big brother (and as cute as ever!) and meet happy, smiley Solomon who charmed me with his adorable grin. There was lots of laughter and dancing and playing involved, which made getting cute candids of this fun-loving bunch easy as pie. It threatened to rain all day, but luckily the only short-lived downpour happened during the greenhouse portion of our session, when we were safely sheltered. Big thanks to Van Horik's Greenhouse for making this shoot extra special!! :)

London Ontario Family Photographer | The Tabor Family

I loved this session so much. It threatened to rain all day, but the severe thunder storm warning that loomed over us proved to be wrong! What a charming, rustic location we had for this session, and what an adorable bunch this family is! Aneta is a photographer herself and it's always such a wonderful compliment when I get a fellow photographer in front of my lens. I just love all the candid moments we captured - and can we take a moment to appreciate their killer colour coordination? Hope you enjoy perusing the photos below! :)

London Ontario Family Photographer | Krawetz Family

I've known Jen for a few years now and had the privilege of watching her go from engaged to married to mama of one, then two, then three. This whole family is as sweet as can be and I always love photographing them (and then seeing their prints displayed all over their home!). After having to reschedule due rain, we finally got the gorgeous morning we'd been waiting for and headed out to the (mosquito filled) woods. Here's a look at our session!

London Ontario Family Photographer | Erin, Spencer & Sydney Downtown

I had the pleasure of working with Erin as an ECE in her kindergarten classroom when I first moved to London, before I took the plunge and decided to really dive into my passion for photography. Her lovely little family trusted me with one of my very first portfolio building sessions, and then officially hired me again shortly after when I first started my business. Erin's always been such a supporter of my work and is such a wonderful person, it was such a joy to see her and her kids and photograph them again. Such a beautiful, fun-loving, radiant bunch. Our downtown session was a blast, and the light was so warm and soft. Here is a look at our session!
