London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Martha and Jamie's Fanshawe Conservation Area Engagement

Last Summer, after a morning July wedding, I headed straight to Starbucks to meet a new couple about their 2014 wedding, which seemed like a million years away. That couple was Martha and Jamie, and I'm so glad they chose me to document their special day, which is almost here! We met up again a few weeks ago for their Fanshawe Conservation Area engagement session, and they even brought their adorable pup. Here are some favourites from their session!

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Britney & Paul's Engagement Session

This was the first time I actually met Britney and Paul in person, and I had so much fun capturing their love of life and each other in this split engagement session. We started off under a gorgeous, blossoming magnolia tree before making our way downtown (complete with a wardrobe change!) to capture a completely different look and feel. I absolutely loved this session, and I'm so excited about sharing my favourites with you! Britney and Paul, your wedding is right around the corner and I cannot wait!!

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Suzanne and Joel's Sunset Engagement Session

I had such a great time getting to know Suzanne and Joel during their sunset engagement session. This gorgeous couple is so fun and laid back, and the weather for this shoot was perfection. The best part about the the gorgeous locations we used (sun soaked field + rustic barn = photographer's dream) is that they also happen to be their wedding ceremony and reception locations. I simply cannot wait to capture their big day at the end of the Summer. In the meantime, enjoy my favourites from our shoot!

London Ontario Engagement Photography | Seb and Gloria

I still remember the day Seb was born. I was in the first grade, and I got called to the office where I was told that It's A Boy! I remember how overjoyed I was, how lucky I felt for having a little brother. That feeling has never really gone away. I treasure my relationship with my brother so much, a relationship built over years of picking him up from school and walking him home, helping with his homework (he's always excelled in school), teaching him to play guitar (he is now sooooo much better than me and plays a bazzillion more instruments!), explaining the rules of hockey to him (he went on to be an amazing hockey player)... ok, ok, basically what I'm saying is that I taught the kid everything he knows. Just kidding. : ) For real though, I adore my brother and it makes me so happy to see him with someone that makes him so happy. Gloria is wonderful, and I wish them nothing but the best as they prepare for their upcoming wedding. We did a little engagement session in the freezing cold (teeth chattering cold), and it was so much fun. Here are some of my favourites!

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Emily and Josh's Country Engagement Session

I had the pleasure of meeting Emily and Josh back in the Fall when I photographed Emily's entire family. They are the sweetest couple and I am so looking forward to photographing their 2014 wedding! The sun really came out to play the night of their engagement session, so I was just a little bit excited to be photographing two beautiful people in a beautiful setting with, you guessed it, beautiful light!  Here are my favourites from our session!

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Rebecca and Bryant's Snowy Engagement

I'm so excited to be Rebecca and Bryant's wedding photographer - these guys are seriously adorable and fun! We shot their engagement photos on a beautiful snowy day - giant fluffy snowflakes and everything freshly blanketed in white. To top it all off, we were able to use an amazing farm property for the perfect backdrop. Rebecca and Bryant - I can't wait for your wedding this Summer! Here are some favourites from our engagement session!

London Ontario Engagement Photographer | 2013 Couples/Engagement Favourites

I've decided that my 2013 favourites will be split up into three posts. Partly because my slightly OCD nature likes to categorize things, and partly because this allows me to include more photos per category. :) In high school, I'd always get reprimanded for writing essays and long form test answers that were too long. I never had any trouble meeting the minimum word count... the maximum word count, however, was not my friend. So, it's been extremely rewarding but also really difficult to go through all of my  2013 work and narrow it down to my absolute favourites. You'll find the 2013 wedding favourites here, and the 2013 family favourites (maternity, family, child, newborn) will be coming up in my next post. As for this post, have a peek at the beautiful couples I've been privileged to have in front of my lens in 2013. Most of them are 2o14 wedding couples (and one 2013 wedding couple). A handful of them are just couples in love who wanted to document their relationship. I love them all!

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | 2013 Wedding Favourites

It blows my mind a little bit that we are now in 2014. I've always loved the idea of photographing weddings, but as a photographer starting out, wedding photography scared me a little (as it should!). It's a giant responsibility, and it's a lot of work - before, during and after the wedding. I wanted to make sure I was really ready before I allowed myself to take on more than 1 or 2 weddings per year, which is what I did for the first 3 years I was in business. I shot a number of lovely weddings here and there, and slowly built up my skills and my confidence in this area of photography. At the end of 2012, I felt prepared and excited to dive into shooting weddings, and I put it out there. I was blessed with 9 beautiful, unique and memorable weddings to document, and as of now I have 15 weddings on the books for 2014. I am so thankful that my client base has embraced this new step in my business, and I couldn't be more excited to celebrate the coming year with my amazing 2014 couples. But before I march into the new year, one last look back on my first *official* wedding season. It was nearly impossible to narrow these down, but I wanted to share some 2013 favourites with you. Enjoy! -xo

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Brigitte and Josh's St Thomas Train Station Wedding

This wedding was absolutely gorgeous, from start to finish. It was such an honour for me to photograph it, especially since Brigitte and Josh had originally signed on with the amazing Natalie and Ron of Mint Photography (they're the ones who took the fabulous engagement photos seen in their decor). The job was handed over to me when it became clear that Nat and Ron would be preparing to welcome their twins into the world on Brigitte and Josh's wedding day. Big kudos to Brigitte and Josh for rolling with it and totally trusting me to capture their day, and big kudos to Nat and Ron for being rockstars and handling this situation like total professionals. Every little detail of this wedding was planned to perfection, and it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of it. Here are some favourites!

Venue: CASO Train Station, St Thomas

Second Shooting/Assisting: Laura Purdy

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Caitlin and Graeme's Engagement Session

This session was almost cancelled due to weather. The forecast was promising rain and the clouds looked threatening. But instead of rain, we got soft, beautiful fog that added a touch of romance to Caitlin and Graeme's amazing session. Everything about this shoot was so.much.fun. Running through fields, wheel barrow rides, giant woodpiles, jumping in mud puddles barefoot, I mean - it just doesn't get much better than that! I had such a blast photographing such an adorable couple against such a breathtaking rustic Fall backdrop, and I have a ton of favourites to share on the ol' blog this evening! Enjoy. :)
