When Sarah and Jacob requested Storybook Gardens for their engagement session, I was intrigued. I’d been there with my kiddos, but never to shoot. The park had special significance to Sarah and Jacob, and I was excited to see it empty (because it’s usually an anxiety-inducing mix of stressed out parents and hundreds of kids on a collective sugar high, haha). We had a blast exploring, and I loved how playful and fun this session ended up being. Here are some favourites!
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Sarah & Justin's Downtown London Engagement Session
Sarah and Justin are just about the cutest couple you will ever meet. The way they look at each other, laugh together and even walk together (Justin has been known to bring Sarah’s hand up to kiss it while they are walking hand-in-hand) made my heart melt and my job so easy. I loved hanging out with them in downtown London for their golden-hour engagement session. Here are some favourites!
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Karlie & Zak's Campus & Woods Engagement Session
Karlie and Zak’s engagement session fell on the most beautiful, sunny evening. The sun showed up for us big time, and we had so much fun exploring the Western University campus before heading to Gibbons Park for an outfit change and more photos in the trails and wildflower fields. I absolutely loved working with this couple, everything from their golden hour engagement session to their gorgeous Paris, Ontario wedding (which will be featured in the upcoming Hitched Magazine Summer 2019 issue, yay!) was perfection. Here are some favourites!
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Bri and Mike's Medway Creek Engagement Session
I am so happy to be revisiting Bri and Mike’s Medway Creek engagement session. I loved working with this amazing couple for their engagement and wedding photos. They are such a sweet pair, always smiling and so affectionate, which makes my job so easy. They actually just welcomed a sweet baby boy, so I’m also using this post to send a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to both of them on this new adventure. Here are some favourites from their engagement session (which was also featured in my promo video!).
Best of 2018 Engagements | London Ontario Wedding Photographer
While I’m not quite up to blogging my 2018 sessions, I’m so thrilled to be sharing my best of 2018 this week - a collection of favourite images from the past year. Today I’m pulling from my 2018 engagement sessions, which spanned every season and so many different locations. I always have such a terrible time culling favourites, because I have a special attachment to each couple, each session, each location. But I based these selections on things like emotion, light, composition, and the feeling that each image elicits in me as a photographer. More than anything, going through these photos made me so thankful for the opportunity to work with so many amazing people, and so excited for all of the upcoming weddings I get to document!
London Ontario Photographer | Aimee's One-On-One Mentoring Session
I’ve been offering one-on-one mentoring sessions for other photographers on the down-lo for a little while. It’s not something I heavily advertise, but after being approached by several photographers regarding mentoring, I developed a few mentoring packages for those who are interested. I met my friend Aimee last year when she booked a mentoring session that included a shooting component as well as a follow up coffee date to go over any questions. We had amazing models and a gorgeous sunny evening that allowed us to focus on golden hour shooting and how to navigate the changing light from bright, hazy rays to that soft, warm glow right before sunset. We also chatted about posing and directing clients, how I like to draw out natural emotion and interactions from couples while shooting, and compared settings and framing as we worked. We even got to sneak in a sunset silhouette shot before heading out to chat about all of her questions - everything from my editing process, to how I structure pricing and mini sessions, to how I navigate difficult client situations and run my social media. Nothing was off limits. If there’s something I can share from my 9 year photography career that can help someone else, I’m an open book. :) I absolutely love chatting and connecting with other photographers, and Aimee has become a friend whose evolving style and growing business I have LOVED witnessing over the past 18 months or so. Do yourself a favour and check out her beautiful work here.
You can see some of the images I shot during our mentoring shoot below. If you’d like more info about the different one-on-one mentoring packages I offer, please don’t hesitate to reach out at sophie@rawfootagephotos.com, or by filling out the contact form.
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Carla & Jon's Campus Engagement Session
I love shooting engagement sessions on campus. This beautiful courtyard was the perfect backdrop for Carla and Jon's engagement session last year. Here are some favourites from their session!

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Aletta & Marijn's Styled Engagement Session
Aletta and Marijn's styled engagement session was a dream. Aletta had a beautiful vision for her photos. From a gorgeous airplane and vintage suitcases to a beautiful bicycle and colourful balloons in a blooming apple orchard... every detail was thought out perfectly. The Spring sun was shining and my inspiration and creativity was literally bursting at the seams. I'm so happy to finally be sharing these images here on the blog. Enjoy!
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Alyssa & Jacob's Spring Blossom Engagement Session
Spring blossom season is just around the corner (hard to believe with the snow and cold we've had lately, I know) and revisiting these colourful photos from last Spring has me so excited for May! Here are a few favourites from Alyssa & Jacob's engagement session in Springbank Park.
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Tracy & Dustin's Winter Engagement Session
What better to blog during an ice storm than a fun Winter engagement session? It was a chilly one for Tracy and Dustin's shoot, but they were up for anything and we had a blast exploring frozen ponds and snow covered woods. Here are a few favourites!
