I used to work with Charlotte in childcare, and I am so blessed to still count her among my dear friends. She let me photograph her pregnant belly and adorable baby and family to build my portfolio back in the day, and I'm so glad I still get to have her, her husband and their two beautiful girls in front of my lens every now and then! We headed to the Medway Heritage Forest on a sunny Fall morning to capture a few portraits of them along with their adorable dog Hendrix. Here are some favourites!
The Mama Journal | 52 Portraits (2)
Somewhere between a tantrum and a power struggle, you exclaimed that I was your "best, best, best friend in the whole world forever!", always melting my heart with your sweetness on even the most tumultuous days of toddlerhood.
London Ontario Family Photographer | Sara, Mike & The Girls
I've been photographing these girls (well, the first three, anyways!) from the very beginning. In fact, Charlotte and Bronwen (twins, if you can believe it!) were in my preschool class back in my ECE days, so how lucky was I that our relationship was able to continue even after we all moved on from the childcare scene. They started their school career, I started my photography career. And I still get to see them, along with big sister Paige and little sister Abby, once a year. I've said it many times, but it's worth repeating I think... the loyalty of my clients, especially those that trusted me back when I was still figuring things out (though I think we're always figuring things out, to a degree!) and continue to hire me year after year... it's truly the biggest compliment and joy. I love watching these girls grow up and capturing their loveliness every year. Here are some favourites from our session.
London Ontario Family Photographer | 2013 Portrait/Family Favourites
This is the third and final 2013 Favourites post. You can see my 2013 Wedding Favourites here and my 2013 Couple/Engagement Favourites here. I have not included anything from my 2013 mini sessions in this post, as I've already grouped my favourites from those in recap posts after each round of minis. In this post you will find favourites from all portrait sessions (Maternity, Family, Newborn, Child, Individual Portrait) as well as a handful of favourites from some of my Project Ten projects. I have tried to include at least 1 favourite from each full session I have photographed, so hopefully everyone who has worked with me this year will see a little snippet of their session represented. Can I just say, narrowing these down was HARD! In the end, after picking an initial favourite from every session, I went with my heart and selected images that most represent my style and vision - capturing light, emotion, and keeping it simple. Enjoy! :)
( Psst... That first photo is from a self portrait project from January 2013, the only real self portrait I've ever done.)
London Ontario Family Photographer | The Smith Family
Happy Christmas Eve, everyone. I wanted to sneak in one more blog post before I officially sign off for Christmas (I've been "off" shooting for a couple of weeks now, and will be taking an office break for the next few days as well). I met the lovely Smith clan for the first time this past Fall and had such a great time photographing their beautiful, fun-loving family. Here are some favourites!
Lifestyle Family Photographer in London Ontario | Darcy, Jessie and Max
This session was quite the roller coaster ride! This sweet, super fun family is no stranger to my lens, and I always look forward to my session with them. We started off on a chilly October morning in Victoria Park with high hopes for a fun, beautiful session in the heart of downtown. Except that after 5 minutes, sweet little Max face planted and scraped his face (three cheers for Photoshop!). The little man was understandable shaken up, and between his injuries and the cold, it just wasn't happening. I must've said "It's ok, no worries, we'll just go with it" about a thousand times. :) We relocated to their favourite Timmies for a snack, and then when this location proved challenging due to the limited space, we decided to simply head back to their home and hope for the best. Of course, as soon as Max was home, he was totally comfortable, happy and excited to show me all of his stuff. This is why I love love love in-home lifestyle sessions, especially with little ones. They are in their element and they are content. Everyone can just relax and play. And I just watch the simple, everyday candid magic unfold and snap away. I just adore the shots we got of them just being them, with so many awesome candid moments and real, big smiles that just can't be beat. :)
London Ontario Family Photographer | The Friyia Family
The Friyia Family was one of my very first clients, and every year I have the immense pleasure of photographing them and seeing their beautiful children grow before my lens. I am so grateful for all my clients, but those that have been with me since the very beginning, bearing with me while I figure things out and continue to define my style and approach to photography... they have a special place in my heart. And if that wasn't enough, Lisa has sent me countless clients over the years. Friyia family, I look forward to seeing you (in your perfectly coordinated outfits) every year, and I am so thankful for your kindness and referrals. Here are a few favourites from our most recent session!
London Ontario Lifestyle Newborn Photography | The Young Family
It's no secret that I love having my dear friends Natalie and Ron Young (of Mint Photography) in front of my lens. They've trusted me with so many special moments, and I was so honoured to be able to snap a few photos of them with their newborn twin boys in the hospital as well as some lifestyle photos in their lovely home (just down the street from mine, bonus!). Natalie took care of documenting the twins' fabulous DIY nursery, and the boys had some posed photos done by our lovely friend Cynthia Bendle, so we really focused on capturing family interactions with this session. Natalie, Ron, Skyler, Bryson, and of course Marley... I love you guys so much and am so happy to call you friends. You guys are rockstar parents and those sweet boys of yours are so incredibly blessed.
Cambridge Ontario Family Photographer | The Bogdon Family
Their charming tree lined street was breathtakingly beautiful and alive with Fall colours, and we made sure to grab a few shots out front as well.

One of these lovely daughters is one of my beautiful 2014 brides. What a treat to get to meet her awesome family a year before the wedding and provide them with some family portraits. King Family, it was so nice to meet you! And Emily, I am SO excited to photograph your engagement session and wedding! Here are some of my favourites!
