These two beautiful people were such a joy to work with last year, from their fun Spring engagement session to their gorgeous UWO wedding, which I can't wait to blog in the next few weeks! We met at Elsie Perrin Williams Estate for their engagement shoot, a location I love because you get a woodsy trail, wooden fence, gorgeous estate property and, in the Spring, a beautiful Magnolia tree all in one place. I just loved this session and am thrilled to be sharing my favourites on the blog today. Enjoy!
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Kate & Matt's Fall Engagement Session
Last Fall, I met Matt and Kate in the woods for their engagement session. We chatted about their upcoming Elm Hurst wedding (which was lovely, and I can't wait to blog soon!) and took some photos surrounded by the most vibrant, beautiful Fall colours. Here are some favourites!
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Jess and Jason's Intimate Wedding
I've neglected my poor little blog over the past very busy season, but I'm back with a new resolve to get back to sharing my work here, and I'm picking up where I left off - with Jess and Jason's intimate, in-home wedding ceremony. These two set up the loveliest little ceremony in their living room, with their own dining room table adorned with the most gorgeous teapot floral arrangements. We headed to the nearby woods for some intimate couple portraits afterwards and were greeted with the most beautiful golden November light. I just loved this day and am so thrilled to finally be sharing my favourites here on the blog.
Waterloo Ontario Wedding Photographer | Alisha & Kyle's Grey Silo Wedding
I'm so thrilled to finally be blogging Alisha and Kyle's gorgeous Grey Silo wedding. I travelled to Waterloo on one of the coldest October days last year. It was SO cold, but this couple was simply radiant, the wedding details were impeccable and the locations beautiful. Alisha and Kyle made so many great decisions that ensured their photos would be the best they could be - like selecting getting ready locations that were clean, bright and airy, planning a stunning indoor backup location with tons of character and natural light (that we ended up using because of the cold!) and choosing an equally gorgeous outdoor photo location at the perfect time of day (pre-sunset light!). Because they had allotted lots of time for portraits, we weren't stressed for time and they got a ton of photos with so much variety. As far as golf courses go, Grey Silo has one of the nicest, brightest, classiest event rooms I've seen. I love these images so much and am so excited to finally share them here on the blog. Enjoy!
A big thank you to my second shooter and assistant, Orsolya Gyorgy!
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Stephanie & Chris' Bellamere Winery Wedding
As a photographer, it's my job to make the most of any situation with a smile, including days where it doesn't rain, it pours. I always try to reassure couples that rain doesn't mean game over, it just means plan B. That said, I also know firsthand what it feels like to be a bride with big plans for an outdoor wedding wake up to rain on her wedding day. When I showed up to Stephanie's hotel room to photograph her getting ready moments, I was expecting a bit of natural disappointment due to the weather. But what I found was a girl who couldn't be more excited to be marrying the love of her life, rain or no rain, and was prepared to embrace this amazing day. Stephanie's positive and bubbly demeanour set the tone for the entire day, and her pure joy was simply contagious. One of my favourite rainy day backups is the use of a greenhouse for portraits. Dry, full of plants and flowers, and lots of natural light. Check, check, check! This time it was Parkway Gardens that came through for us, and I absolutely loved our short but sweet couple shoot there following a beautiful ceremony at Bellamere. The colours were vibrant and Chris and Stephanie, as always, were simply glowing with love for each other.
Photographing this wedding and getting to know Chris and Stephanie and their families was an absolute delight. I'm so excited to share some of my favourites from their wedding day! Enjoy!
A big thank you to my amazing second shooter, Orsolya Gyorgy! xo
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Erin & Steve's Oakville Gold Club Wedding
I had so much fun photographing Erin and Steve's beautiful wedding at the Oakville Golf Club last Fall. Their portrait time coincided with what we photographers refer to as golden hour... That magical 2-hour window before sunset where the light is warm and soft and flattering... as long as it isn't covered up by clouds. When we saw the rainy, overcast skies the day of the wedding, we assumed that golden sunlight we were looking forward to would be very unlikely. However, the sun peeked through at exactly the right moment, and we were able to get some beautiful sun soaked photos after all. Here are my favourite images from Erin and Steve's wonderful wedding day!
As always a huge thank you to my amazing and talented assistant and second shooter Orsolya Gyorgy.
London Ontario Wedding Photography | Chris & Stephanie's Golden Hour Engagement
I met Chris and Stephanie 2 days before their October wedding. This is also when I photographed their engagement session, as they both live in Alberta and would not be coming to Ontario before the actual wedding. With very little time to reschedule in case of rain, we got lucky and enjoyed the most beautiful Fall evening, with that gorgeous golden pre-sunset light in all its glory. I had so much fun with these two. Stephanie and Chris are totally laid back, up for anything (like Chris carrying Stephanie on his back and jumping stones to get to a perfect spot in the middle of a stream) and always laughing. Here are my favourites from their session!
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Luke & Sara's Backyard Wedding
One of the best parts of being a photographer is building connections with people over time. The Bogdon Family invited me to their Cambridge, Ontario home to document their family shortly before Luke and Sara got engaged, and I was thrilled to find myself back on their beautiful property the following year for their engagement photos, and again the year after that for their gorgeous backyard wedding. Luke and Sara are just the sweetest, and everything about their day was perfection. Here are my favourites!
Many thanks to my amazing second shooter and assistant, Lea Legg!
London Ontario Lifestyle Photographer | 2015 Favourites
2015 was such a special year for me, because we welcomed our second daughter, Naia Rose, into our lives. While I certainly didn't take the year off, I did take a few months of rest and a reduced workload for the rest of the year, which means I really got to savour every wedding and every session in a way that I don't often get to when I'm booking double or triple the amount of work. It's crazy to me that 2015 is already over, and it's been so fun to look back through the archives. Every year it is both delightful and agonizing to put this massive favourites post together. Delightful because I revisit my favourite work from the previous year and reminisce. Agonizing because I actually have to choose. I love all of my clients and walk away from each session and wedding with something positive, so this is by no means a list of favourite clients. Rather, it's a collection of images that, when I took them and when I looked back on them, made my heart skip a beat. Maybe it's perfect, delicious golden light. Or a sweet, candid mother-daughter moment. Maybe it's that moment a child is laughing so hard his eyes are squinting or a couple sharing an intimate look after saying "I do". Sometimes it's something more technical, like the composition of an image or the contrast between shadow and light that I'm really proud of. Regardless of the exact reason behind each image, these are the images that make me the most proud and excited when I look back on my 2015 portfolio. I hope you enjoy scrolling through them! <3
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Ashley & Derek's Ukraina Country Club Wedding
Ashley and Derek said "I do" at the Ukraina Country Club last Summer, and it was such a beautiful, love-filled day. These two are just the sweetest. Ashley and I first connected over Instagram, and from the pre-wedding countdown to the post-wedding reminiscing, witnessing her excitement about the wedding and overflowing love for Derek has made documenting their engagement and wedding even more special for me. Here are some images from their day.
A huge thank you to my fabulous second shooter and assistant, Priya McHardie!
