London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Sarah & Justin's Old Courthouse Wedding

Sarah and Justin are one of the most adorable couples ever. Truly. These two are always laughing, snuggling, and looking at each other with so much love in their eyes. Not to mention Justin’s signature more (which I first saw during their downtown engagement session), kissing Sarah’s hand while walking hand in hand. (I just peeked at their engagement session blog post to get that link, and it turns out I wrote almost the exact same thing about them there, too. What can I say? They really are the cutest!) These two are such a joy to photograph, and so incredibly kind. I loved documenting their beautiful wedding ceremony at St George’s Anglican Church, followed by their lovely Old Courthouse reception. A perfect, love-filled day from start to finish. Here are some favourites!

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Emily & Nathan's Woodsy Engagement Session

At several points during Emily and Nathan’s engagement session, I threw my arms up in the air and exclaimed “We’ll look back on this and laugh!”.

What a shoot this was! First of all, let’s get it out of the way - these two are adorable and I absolutely love the photos we captured during their woodsy engagement session. Now, onto the part that I like to refer to as “a series of unfortunate events”. 😂

I took Nate and Emily to one of my favourite photo locations. Kind of a hidden gem that I was so excited to shoot in with them. It had rained all day and finally stopped, which made for a good news/bad news situation. The good news? We didn’t need to reschedule! And those vibrant post-rainfall colours were popping. The bad news? The trail to get to the clearing was unbelievably muddy. It was super hot and humid out. And the mosquitos were out to party. But Emily and Nathan were up for an adventure, so we went for it. We slipped and slid all the way down the trail, and I realized about 10 minutes into the shoot that Emily is super sensitive/allergic to mosquito bites. I offered to leave and go to another location, but being the trooper that she is, she wanted to stay and go for it anyways (we had already worked hard enough just to get to our location!). So there we were, standing in a field on an intensely hot day, dripping in sweat, mud all over our ankles, getting eaten alive by mosquitos (hives and all), in a beautiful location that was just a little more overgrown than I had remembered it (thanks to a crazy rain + heat wave combo over the previous few weeks). But Emily and Nathan were all smiles, laughed it off, and completely rocked their session.

After a bit, we decided to head to a nearby park to finish up the shoot with a different look and feel. Feeling accomplished that we made it through those challenging shooting conditions and excited about the amazing images on my camera, we started heading back down the muddy trail. “Hang on, let’s do one more on the bridge!” - famous last words of a photographer who proceeded to slip on the mud, fall onto a rock and break a camera lens. Honestly, I am laughing while writing this because it was just the perfect storm of obstacles. Emily and Nathan were so sweet and truly concerned for my well being, but I quickly dusted myself off and exclaimed something to the effect of “It’s ok! It’s part of the job! It’s not the first time (sad but true)! I have insurance (phew)! Let’s keep going!”.

I am pleased to say that the remaining part of the shoot was uneventful, and we continued to make some great images at our second location before wrapping up. A little bit of photoshop magic took care of the allergic mosquito-bite reactions, and Emily and Nathan’s positivity and sense of adventure took care of the rest! It was such a roller coaster ride of a session, but I don’t think I would change any of it,partly because it makes for a really hilarious story, but mostly because I absolutely love the images we captured. Here are some favourites!

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Brianne & Mike's Bellamere Winery Wedding

What a beautiful day this was. Brianne and Mike have such a beautiful connection and I absolutely loved helping them document their Bellamere Winery wedding. The rain made a few appearances throughout the day, but it was nothing cute umbrellas and a seamless switch to an indoor ceremony couldn’t handle. These two have smiles that light up a room and just radiate kindness. From my very first meeting with Bri in the early planning stages to delivering their completed gallery, working with them was a joy. They’ve since welcomed a beautiful baby boy and I couldn’t be happier for Bri and Mike and this new chapter. Here are a few favourites from their gorgeous wedding day.

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Christina & Danny's Backyard Wedding

Today I’m reminiscing about Christina and Danny’s beautiful backyard country wedding. We started at Fernwood Hills for a first look and couple/bridal party photos before heading back to their property for a lovely outdoor ceremony. The backyard tent was set up beautifully (with help from Deelish) and the entire evening was so relaxed and joyful. Here are some favourites from their special day!

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Danny and Christina's Woodsy Engagement Session

Danny and Christina had their woodsy engagement session in the early Spring, when buds were just starting to form into leaves, and everything was slowly going from brown to green. That time of year where it’s still chilly enough to wear a sweater, but you can feel Summer getting closer with each passing day. Here are a few favourites from their e-session!

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Sarah & Jacob's Civic Gardens Wedding

I loved documenting Sarah and Jacob’s Fall wedding at Civic Gardens. It was still warm enough for a lovely outdoor ceremony on the terrace before heading into the beautiful conservatory for some photos. We also spent some time walking around Springbank Park, which is absolutely stunning in the Fall and makes the perfect backdrop for wedding photos. Here are some favourites from this perfect day!

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Alyssa & Jacob's CASO Train Station Wedding Celebration

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and photographing Alyssa and Jacob for their engagement session, and again for their Canadian wedding celebration following their elopement. They held a beautiful reception for their close friends and family at the beautiful CASO station in St Thomas, and I was lucky enough to capture a few portraits of them along with some family photos. Here is a handful of favourites!

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Emily & Mike's Romantic Wedding in the Woods

I have such incredibly fond memories of this day. I knew Emily and Mike’s wedding would be special just from having photographed their engagement session. These two have such a beautiful connection and are full of life and joy. But when I showed up to their ceremony in the woods, I was blown away. It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of private property weddings with lots of character, but this magical clearing in the woods with the sun streaming in through the trees literally took my breath away. My pal and second-shooter-for-the-day Lea and I looked at each other like, are you kidding me? As if a fairytale-like setting wasn’t enough, their ceremony (and entire day) was full of deeply personal touches. I can still hear Neil Young’s Harvest Moon every time I look at these images. It’s the song Emily’s brother played during Mike and Emily’s ceremony while all of their guests sang along in unison. An enchanted forest acoustic sing-along? Yes PLEASE. This day was one for the books, and I’m so excited to finally be sharing it on the blog.

Best of 2018 Weddings | London Ontario Wedding Photographer

I’ve had so much fun looking back through 2018’s family, engagement and newborn lifestyle sessions over the past week, and it’s all been leading up to this massive wedding post. I’ve gone through the images so many times and there are still far more photos here than there probably should be. But I’ve never been one to keep things brief, so here we are. ;) So many amazing couples, so many gorgeous and unique locations, so many incredible vendors that I’ve had the privilege of working with. I can’t wait to blog all of these weddings individually, but for now here are my 2018 favourites in one big heap. Enjoy!
